Low Range Off-Road is pushing the Suzuki Samurai world's evolution with new and innovative products that perform great and don't break the bank. While other manufactures are leaving the Samurai behind we step in to fill their place. Our EOS cradle is intended for heavy duty use and is more than needed on a stock Samurai. One of our competitors once made a popular transfer case bracket kit that worked well on stock or mildly built Samurais. However that mount was discontinued in 2013. Since there was no intermediate transfer case bracket kit, we decided to make something that would fill the void left behind nicely. The factory transfer case mount arm is very thin. We have seen this arm fail with stock t-case gearing and 30-inch tires. If you install 4.16:1 t-case gears or install oversized tires you need to strengthen this mount or it might bend and break the top of your transfer case housing. With 4.9:1-6.5:1 gear sets we recommend using our Original EOS Cradle. Stock to 4.16:1 gears put less stress on the mount arm. We decided to make a step below our EOS kits and make the EOS Jr. This is by no means a weak link being fully MIG welded and zinc plated from 3/16 inch and 1/4 inch thick laser cut steel plate. Low Range Offroad EOS Extreme Duty Transfer Case Cradle - STC-EOS
For years, the pages had continued to turn attempting to make the best transfer case cradle for the Suzuki Samurai. In 2012, Low Range Off-Road set out to make an end to that story and in 2014, after 2 years of development and testing, a bestseller was born. Low Range's efforts were motivated by repeated transfer case breakage after installing low range t-case gears. The factory brackets are made of thin sheet metal with only 4 points of contact on each side of the case. High torque situations or simply letting out the clutch too fast in low range can cause the mounts to bend, which in turn causes pulling or breaking of the soft aluminum transfer case. In addition, the factory brackets attach to the frame itself in only 3 places creating additional vulnerability. Other aftermarket cradles do not address the transfer case's rigidity problems and use only factory mounting locations to attach their cradle to the case. So what sets this cradle apart from the competition? Low Range started from scratch and made a mount with 17 points of contact to the transfer case. The EOS has a full circle backbone that distributes torque around the whole case. With added strength comes a dramatically reduced risk of t-case breakage and extended gear life. To address the weak bracket that mounts to the frame in only 3 places, they added a 4th frame mount location on the cradle arm.
