This adapter bellhousing assembly is used to adapt the GM 4.3, V8 to the Jeep NV3550, 5 speed manual transmissions. The bellhousing kit includes a 356 T-6 aluminum bellhousing, universal dust cover plate, Jeep TJ master cylinder fitting, pilot bushing, special metric fitting hydraulic fitting (used with p/n 716213 slave cyl), throw-out arm, slave cylinder push rod, slave cylinder push rod end, ball pivot, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions. Note: When using a 168th flywheel on your GM engine a gear reduction starter is required. We offer gear reduction starts (p/n 22-0001 & 22-0003). Note: GM 4.3 V6 conversion applications with a 168th flywheel will experience header interference with the slave cylinder & throw-out arm. At that time, it is recommended that a muffler shop custom make an exhaust down pipe. Transmission The NV3550 was used in the Jeep TJ Wranglers equipped with the 4.0L engine. The transmission case length is 24.00. It has a 1-1/8, 10 spline input shaft with a pilot tip of .750. The output shaft is a flush 23 spline. The bolt pattern on the face of NV3550 looks identical to the AX15, except for a shift rail that protrudes from the top front of the NV3550.
