Our Trail-Creeper 4.24:1 T-Case Gears is just what you need! Our Trail-Creeper 4.24:1 T-Case Gears are constructed out of high quality materials for superior strength and to take the punishment that any trail has to offer. These gears provide a 135% low range reduction from the stock 1.8:1 gears giving you the power and control needed to conquer the most difficult of obstacles. The Trail-Creeper 4.24 T-Case Gears will also include input and output seals.Choosing the right material for our gears was our top priority. Gears that perform well under load and street driving require a high quality steel alloy material. We chose Japanese alloy SCM415 for its great strength and wear resistance. SCM415 outperforms the 8620 material in yield and ultimate tensile strength resulting in a gear that is less prone to chipping or cracking. SCM415 also retains its strength under high-temperature use. High carbon materials such as SCM420 or 8620 are not the best choice in our experience and opinion as they do not carburize as well and can become brittle. Low Range Offroad 4.16:1 Transfer Case Gear Kit - STC-416N
Samurais are incredibly capable off-road. Unfortunately they are limited by their minuscule 26-inch diameter tires. Even small jumps in tire size result in terrible high range gearing. You may even lose the ability to use 5th gear on the road. Luckily the Samurai has a very unique transfer case that is easy to re-gear with near stock high range and very deep low range gears. Lower low range gears (numerically higher ratio) are essential for rock crawling. Our 4.16:1 gears reduce low range by 84 percent while high range is reduced only 12 percent. That high range reduction is the sweat spot for 29-inch to 30-inch tires. Choosing the right material for our gears was our top priority.
