Low Range Offroad 1.6L 16 valve Power Steering Kit - SST-LRPS-1.6-16V
Why didn't Suzuki install power steering in the first place? Most likely they were trying to keep costs down- but Low Range has a solution! This kit is what you will need using a donor box, pump, reservoir and lines from a 1989-1998 Suzuki Sidekick or Geo Tracker. Low Range has found that the Sidekick setup has worked extremely well over the years. This pump bracket also mounts the pump in a lower location than any other kit on the market. Low Rage has found that most have the pump to high and that can starve the pump for fluid and cause cavitation that can kill your pump. The power steering box on the Sidekick has also proven to be a great performer, they have used them on many of Low Range's Samurais in the past and have had excellent results. They can also be ported for use of a Hydraulic Assist setup. All brackets are hand TIG Welded and then Zinc Plated for corrosion protection. The pulley is CNC Machined, and Anodized for corrosion protection. They have taken their time to develop the most complete and highest quality manufactured kit available today. A great benefit to the kit as well is that you do not need the OEM Pump Bracket to install onto your Samurai. This is very convenient because most pull off pump, box, and line sets found do not have the bracket with them still. Kit also includes a Rag Joint Eliminator. This eliminates the tearing and ripping of the factory rag joint very common with the Samurai. Not only does provide a more reliable steering joint, it also cuts down on shaft play.
